In the last few years pigeon prices is almost doubling each year . Mostly of the 1st National and 1st International ace pigeons is leaving the country .Prices up to R 3 000 000 (SA) AND $400 000
Is these the best pigeons for breeding , some would ask. I definitely believe so , and I will tell you why!!
If you studied the pedigrees of Piet Veenstra , Heinz Meier , leo heremans ,and all the other big names you will see in their pigeons pedigree's the same names of certain pigeons coming up all the times. These pigeons is prepotent breeders and the genes is passed on from generation to generation. Some times it slip a generation but comes out with another 1st national ace pigeon.
Take for example the famous KLEINE DIRK OF KOOPMAN , you will see his name in almost every second or third pedigree of 1st national ace pigeons in Germany , Belguim and the Netherlands.
